Author Guidelines

Goliterati Management Review (GMR) welcomes submissions featuring novel research questions, robust conceptual foundations, and rigorous methodologies. Our journal advances the field of management with informative content for business scholars and leaders worldwide. Manuscripts must be written in English, follow APA 7th Edition style, and demonstrate solid methodology, clear contribution, and strong practical implications.

GMR accepts seven types of manuscripts. Word counts exclude abstract, references, tables, figures, and appendices.

Research Paper

Original empirical studies (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed) utilizing robust methodologies. Must provide novel findings and evidence-based implications. Extensions up to 15,000 words may be granted for multi-study papers or meta-analyses.

7,000–12,000 words

LR

Literature Review

Protocol-driven reviews (PRISMA compliant) that synthesize existing knowledge to identify gaps and shape future research agendas. Includes systematic review, meta-analysis, or qualitative synthesis. Required: PRISMA flow diagram and study quality assessment.

CP

Conceptual Paper

Articles that refine, integrate, or propose transformative management models and theoretical frameworks. Must advance the field beyond existing concepts.

Case Study

In-depth analysis of complex organizational phenomena providing rich contextual evidence and strategic lessons.

Pre-Submission Checklist

Important: Manuscripts missing required elements will be returned without review (desk rejection).

  • Originality: Manuscript represents original work not published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • Blind Review: Main Manuscript File is completely anonymized (no author names, affiliations, or identifying information).
  • References: Minimum 30 references with at least 50% from the last 5 years, formatted in APA 7th Edition. Reference diversity: >15 different journals; maximum 20% from single journal. Self-citation: <10% of total references.
  • Similarity Check: Plagiarism check completed with similarity score below 20%.
  • Author Identifiers: ORCID iDs provided for ALL authors.
  • Ethics Statement: Ethical approval documented for research involving human subjects. All co-authors have reviewed and approved the submission.
  • AI Disclosure: Usage of AI-assisted tools disclosed in Acknowledgments section, specifying tool(s), purpose, and extent of involvement.
  • Data Availability: Statement on data access or supplementary materials.

  • Research Highlights: 3–5 bullet points (max 120 characters each)

Open Access Policy & Publication Charges

Article Processing Charge

GMR applies a modest APC of IDR 500,000 (approximately USD 30) per accepted manuscript. No submission or review fees are charged. Authors without institutional support may request a full or partial fee waiver at submission.

CC BY 4.0 License

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Authors retain full copyright. Articles are freely available worldwide immediately upon publication.

Peer Review Process

Initial Editorial Screening

Editorial team checks scope, completeness, adherence to ethical standards, and basic quality. Desk rejections may occur at this stage.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers on originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity, and significance. Neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities.

Decision & Revision

Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. Authors are expected to address all reviewer comments and submit a detailed response letter.

Typical Turnaround: Usually within 5–7 weeks (<45 days) from submission to first decision, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.

Fast-Track Review: Manuscripts meeting methodological excellence criteria (e.g., pre-registered designs, open data commitment, multi-country samples) are eligible for priority review with a guaranteed first decision within 45 days. See the Manuscript Template for full eligibility details.

Publication Ethics

GMR adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Authors are required to ensure originality, proper citation, and transparency in methods and data.

  • No plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate submission.
  • All sources, data, and AI-assisted tools must be properly acknowledged.
  • Conflicts of interest and funding sources must be declared clearly.
  • Human and animal research must comply with relevant ethical standards and IRB approval.
  • All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin/iThenticate plagiarism detection software.

Publication Schedule

Tri-Annual Publication

GMR publishes three issues per year: April, August, and December. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.

Indexing Goals

GMR is actively pursuing inclusion in major databases including Google Scholar, Crossref, DOAJ, Dimensions, Semantic Scholar, BASE, and OpenAIRE, with a strategic roadmap toward Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) indexation.

AI Transparency: Use of AI-assisted tools is fully disclosed in the Acknowledgments section, specifying tool(s), purpose, and extent of involvement.
Co-Author Consent: All co-authors have reviewed and approved this submission.

This journal and its services are intended for academic professionals and are not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

Data Collection & Usage

GMR collects personal information exclusively for the purposes of editorial management, peer review, and academic publication. This includes:

  • Names and email addresses
  • Institutional affiliations
  • ORCID iDs and other author identifiers
  • Submission and review history

This data is necessary to process manuscripts, communicate with authors and reviewers, and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Peer Review Confidentiality: GMR employs double-blind peer review. Reviewer identities are kept strictly confidential and are not disclosed to authors or the public. Reviewer data (names, email addresses, review history) is accessible only to authorized editorial staff and is not shared with third parties.

Legal Basis for Processing

In accordance with GDPR (EU 2016/679) and Indonesian Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP No. 27/2022), GMR processes personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Consent: Authors and users provide explicit consent during registration and manuscript submission (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); UU PDP Art. 20(2)(a)).
  • Legitimate Interest: Maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record, managing peer review, and operating the journal (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Legal Obligation: Compliance with record-keeping, audit, and archiving requirements (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

Consent is obtained through explicit checkboxes during user registration and manuscript submission on our OJS platform.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. However, as an open-access scholarly journal, article metadata is shared with the following services:

Google Scholar, Crossref, DOAJ, Dimensions, Semantic Scholar, BASE, and OpenAIRE.

Identifier Providers

Crossref for DOI registration and ORCID for author identification.

Digital Archives

LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and PKP PN for long-term preservation of scholarly content.

Consent: By submitting a manuscript, authors consent to this standard academic dissemination of their work and associated metadata.

International Data Transfers: As part of academic dissemination, article metadata and limited personal data (e.g., author and editor names) may be transferred to indexing, archiving, and publishing services located outside Indonesia. These transfers are necessary for the legitimate purposes of scholarly communication. We ensure that adequate safeguards are in place in accordance with UU PDP Art. 56 and GDPR Art. 46.

Data Retention

In compliance with global standards and best practices, GMR retains data as follows:

User Accounts

Retained while active. Inactive accounts (more than 3 years without activity) may be anonymized upon request.

Submitted Manuscripts

Retained for 7 years after editorial decision for audit trails and verification purposes.

Published Articles: Author metadata associated with published articles is retained indefinitely as part of the permanent scholarly record.

In accordance with GDPR, Indonesian data protection regulations (UU PDP No. 27/2022), and international best practices, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Deletion: Request account deletion (note: metadata in published articles cannot be removed from the scholarly record).

Response Time: We will respond to all data-related requests within 30 days.

Right to Lodge a Complaint: If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. In Indonesia, complaints may be directed to the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital / Komdigi) or the designated supervisory body under UU PDP (once established). In the EU, complaints may be filed with your local Data Protection Authority.
